Professor Nohyung Park, Chairman of the Korea International Mediation Centre (KIMC), has once again solidified his standing as a leading expert representing South Korea on the international stage for establishing regional dispute resolution systems in the Asia-Pacific. Chairman Nohyung Park was invited as a key expert to the ‘Second Alternative Dispute Resolution Policy Dialogue,’ held from April 20 to 22 at the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. Jointly hosted by the ADBI and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), this international conference brought together senior judicial officials, legal scholars, and ADR practitioners from across the Asia-Pacific region. On April 13, 2026, Professor Park Nohyoung, Chairperson of the Korea International Mediation Centre (KIMC), and Mr. Park Jun-seok, CEO of , signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen operational cooperation between the two organizations. Under the terms of the agreement, KIMC and will collaborate to develop and promote specialized training programs in international commercial negotiation and mediation. KIMC will contribute its expertise through an extensive network of mediators and negotiation professionals, while will support the initiative through strategic media coverage and promotional activities. Vietnam Mediation Centre (VMC) extends its international cooperation via Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony with the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC) and the Korea International Mediation Centre (KIMC) The MOU marked a milestone in the cooperative relationship between SIMC and VMC; furthermore, it initiated opportunities for developing commercial mediation in Vietnam. On November 9, 2025, KIMC visited Shanghai, China, and signed a memorandum of understanding with Shanghai Huali Law Firm, a mid-sized local law firm, for cooperation in mediating trade disputes between Korea and China. Based on the establishment of a long-term and stable partnership, the two parties agreed to actively recommend dispute resolution through mediation to their clients and to recommend KIMC as the preferred mediation institution. Furthermore, they agreed to actively cooperate in the activation and universalization of the international dispute mediation system between Korea and China. KIMC plans to pursue further Memorandums of Understanding on dispute resolution through mediation with local Chinese law firms in the future, and will emerge as a hub for international trade dispute mediation between Korea and China.
